Exploring Brazilian Composers

Updated: May 1, 2021

One of our greatest joys as musicians is the ability to explore the beautiful music from other countries. Today, I want to share with you one of my favorite Brazilian composers - Ernesto Nazareth (March 20, 1863 – February 1, 1934).

He was a composer and pianist, and he was especially known for his dance compositions, mixing European and Brazilian rhythms and influences. His piano repertoire is now part of the teaching programs of both classical and popular styles, as Nazareth once served at the boundary between these two worlds.

Here I perform for you "Coraçåo que Sente" (Heart that Feels) by Ernesto Nazareth.
